Description
The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is seeking highly motivated and energetic full-time certified Pharmacy Technician who will be responsible for the transportation and distribution of approved medications to the client/ inmate population while maintaining confidentiality. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, ordering refill medications, following up on medication discrepancies including missed medications, ensuring proper documentation of medication in Health Trax, medication cart maintenance, manifesting all medications for clients/inmates, and working alongside the Health Services Coordinator and Nursing Supervisors.

The Pharmacy Technician is also responsible for the proper management of all medications including controlled substances. Medical support staff will adhere to all pharmacy standards while focusing on Health Services policy compliance and safety standards.

Currently, we are aiming to hire two candidates to primarily work the 3-11 p.m.

The position requires you to have a valid Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration/License and/or National Pharmacy Certification with experience

The salary for this position is $23.39 an hour.

Requirements
Possession of a valid Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration/License and/or National Pharmacy Certification with experience.
Thorough working knowledge of principles and practices of proper medication management, both controlled and uncontrolled.
Ability to thoroughly read, understands, and follows medication distribution protocols in addition to facility policy and procedures.
General knowledge of prescription pharmaceuticals.
Computer skills to include general knowledge and ability to work within Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work productively and independently.
In good physical health necessary to perform job duties and responsibilities.
Must be able to work flexible work shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
