Description
The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is seeking a dynamic Health Services Coordinator of the Medical Support Department who will be responsible for pharmaceutical operations and the management of procuring, storing, and delivering medications to the inmate population. The Health Services Coordinator will ensure that the overall process for the transportation and distribution of approved medications to the inmate population is done while maintaining confidentiality. Other responsibilities include ordering refill medications, following up on medication discrepancies including missed medications, ensuring proper documentation of medication in Health Trax, ensuring proper medication cart maintenance, manifesting all medications for inmates, and working cohesively with the Nursing Supervisors to ensure the safe delivery of medications.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3 p.m. - 11 p.m., plus rotating weekends

Requirements
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License or a National Pharmacy Certification, and have a minimum of 1 year supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Thorough working knowledge of principles and practices of proper medication management for both controlled and uncontrolled medications.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Enhanced knowledge of prescription pharmaceuticals including medication use, adverse reactions and medication side effects.
  • Working knowledge of record keeping procedures and the legal aspect of pharmaceutical management.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to problem solve as related to pharmacy operations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.
