Summary

  • Position Summary
    • Mental Health Tech II are essential members of the Psychiatric, Recovery, and Addictions Care Team by conducting technical and supportive care functions.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred
    • License/Certifications: Active certification in good standing on the State of Maine CNA Registry is required. Current BLS/CPR certification or obtain within one month of hire. Current workplace safety training within six months of hire.
    • Experience: One year experience working in a healthcare setting - or current enrollment in a healthcare field of study preferred; 6 months experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of signs and symptoms of complex types of psychopathology, e.g. dissociative and substance abuse disorders.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology.
    • Articulates an understanding of appropriate approaches with individuals experiencing significant psychological illness.
    • Utilizes principles of workplace safety training in dealing with violent behavior.
