Job Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking an unpaidfull-timeFoundation Intern.

Our internship program seeks to accomplish the following:

Provide a learning experience that will benefit you by:

  • Fulfilling educational requirements (if applicable)
  • Exposing you to a growing nonprofit organization
  • Provide you training from professional and community development staff
  • Allowing you to apply your education in real-life situations
  • Provide a learning experience that will benefit our organization by allowing interns to contribute to the Cabell Huntington Hospital's long term goals
Foundation Internship Facts:
  • The Foundation offers volunteer internship opportunities, both full and part time, throughout the year
  • Internships typically last a minimum of three months
  • Internships can be done for college credit or just experience
  • A minimum of 3 days a week in the office is required
  • Prospective interns should be hard working, enthusiastic and flexible individuals who possess or seek a working knowledge of communications, business or healthcare work
  • Foundation internships are unpaid
  • Interns will work in the Foundation and will report to the Vice President of the Foundation
Training:

Interns will learn the following through direct interaction with staff, project ownership, personal training sessions and relevant reading material:
  • Basic development theory
  • Basic business and development writing
  • Basic layout and design skills
  • Organizational process
  • Professional office protocol
  • Project management

Requirements

Current Opportunity:

The Foundation seeks a communications or journalism student with a junior standing or higher to research, edit and develop persuasive and motivational pieces and assist in developing a communications strategy utilizing a variety of tactics. The successful intern will also work with key leaders to develop, organize and execute an employee-focused fundraiser. Proficient use of Microsoft Office required. To be considered, prospective students should submit a resume, letter of recommendation and two writing samples.
