Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients with wounds, considering factors such as wound type, size, location, and overall health status.
Diagnose and classify wounds based on established protocols and guidelines.
Identify underlying medical conditions that may impact wound healing.

Treatment Planning:
Develop individualized wound care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Prescribe and administer appropriate wound care treatments, including dressings, topical agents, and advanced therapies.
Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on the patient's response and wound progress.

Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans.
Provide information on lifestyle modifications, nutrition, and other factors influencing wound healing.

Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate comprehensive care for patients with wounds.
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss and update patient treatment plans.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of wound assessments, treatments, and progress.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and other documentation systems as required.

Quality Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care protocols and practices.
Stay current on evidence-based practices and incorporate them into clinical care.

Research and Innovation:
Stay informed about the latest advancements in wound care treatments and technologies.
Contribute to research projects and implement innovative practices when appropriate.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license.
Specialized certification in wound care (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification, WOCN, or equivalent) is preferred.
Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Experience:
Previous experience in wound care is highly desirable.
Familiarity with diverse wound types and treatment modalities.
Working Conditions:
Typically works in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, or home healthcare settings.
May require lifting and positioning of patients.
Variable hours depending on the healthcare setting.
