Fulltime Workplace Health Safety & Environment Professional – Neerabup, WA

Whilst reporting to the WHSE Manager, your primary focus will be to provide support, guidance and direction to the operations team with respect to all safety, health, and environmental issues within the mill.
Your duties will include:
Work closely with all functions (production, maintenance, quality control) within the operations team to maintain the company WHSE systems in our manufacturing plant.
Provide guidance and support to the team across all WHSE related matters including risk mitigation, incident management, injury and return to work management.
Assisting with developing, implementing and maintaining safe work procedures.
Delivering Health & Safety training
Continuously assess the work environment for injury prevention and risk mitigation.
Ensure that appropriate assessments and processes are followed and documented for any change or improvement that is proposed or implemented in the plant.
Maintain the site emergency response readiness including equipment training and practice exercises.
Manage the environmental risks on site including transport of waste and wastewater and provide the relevant data to the WHSE manager for reporting to environmental authorities.
Support the site permit to work program, including training of employees and contractor induction.
Support the Site’s Chain of Responsibility requirements for transport.
Perform risk assessments for tasks, chemicals and plant used on site, recommend actions and ensure these are closed out in a timely manner.
Part of the team which investigates and records all incidents, workplace injuries and near misses on site, assisting to determine and validate appropriate corrective actions.
Monitor completion of all safety actions.
Support the business with internal audits for Health Safety and Environment
Prepare reports, data and KPI information to allow managers to make informed decisions for the business.
Selection Criteria:
Showcase experience in a similar role, with a track record of building strong relationships with cross functional teams and employees.
Experience in Health, Safety & Training Management Systems
Excellent analytical, organisational and record keeping skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate to build strong relationships.
Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives, to improve safety.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment and driving a safety culture (highly desirable)
Knowledge of chemical hazards and management.
Comfortable working and liaising with management and operator level employees.
Intermediate – Advanced in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel).
Experience in maintaining a HSE system or certification (desirable).
Flourish in Manufacturing/Production environments and demonstrate an ability to consult effectively in these settings.
Hold a Certificate IV or higher in Work Health and Safety. Current first aid certification is advantageous.
Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication prowess, facilitating effective consultation.
Display a sharp eye for detail and precision, ensuring thorough consultation in incident management.
Employ innovative problem-solving techniques through collaboration with employees.
Proof of Australian Working Rights.
Current Drivers Licence.
Current National Police Clearance or willing to obtain at own cost(essential).
Ability to complete a comprehensive Pre-Employment Medical, including a drug and alcohol screening with the company’s provider.
