Must be a US Citizen who currently possesses a Secret Clearance with the possibly to obtain a Top Secret Clearance. This is an onsite position.

Journeyman Computer User Support Specialist possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Provide technical assistance to computer users.
  • nswer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically.
  • ccount management (establish user accounts, reset passwords)
  • System level administration and troubleshooting
  • ssist users with understanding software and hardware capabilities.
  • Continuous performance monitoring to ensure operational capability.
  • ssist in maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Report any discrepancies to supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
  • HS diploma with a minimum of 4 years related experience or AS degree with 2+ years' experience or BA degree is preferred.
  • Experience in C/Fortran programming is preferred.
  • Experience in parallel programming with MPI and OpenMP is preferred.
  • Compiling and debugging programs is preferred.
  • General knowledge of high-performance computers is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting data processing processes and procedures.
  • Experience in training and providing technical assistance to end-users.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
