Lead the Payroll team in developing, implementing, and overseeing payroll programs for operations in the United States within the firm and its affiliates
Manage compliance requirements for payroll operations, including the development and implementation of payroll policies and practices
Provide guidance to managers and employees on the interpretation of payroll policies and practices
Enhance data audit processes to ensure consistency and accuracy of automated data
Stay updated on current laws, trends, and best practices in payroll, compensation, and benefits, and assess them for potential implementation, making recommendations when necessary
Manage general ledger processes and foster relationships between payroll and accounting stakeholders
Collaborate with the Employee Tax Team and pay and tax vendors for calculation and remittance processes, as well as internal HR and assignee communication for seamless processing
Work with project teams to automate payroll processes through HRIS enhancements and implementations
Develop a team of benefits experts across both countries and ensure cross-training for business continuity purposes
Promote a customer service mindset within the Payroll team and vendors, and provide coaching and assessment of team members and vendors across all aspects of the Payroll service delivery model
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in managing payroll across multiple
locations/geographies
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with vendors, managers, employees, and HR team members
Analytical skills to develop comprehensive analysis and proposals
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and the ability to align current programs for compliance
Ability to translate vision into action, manage multiple priorities, improve operations, and maintain positive relationships while delivering results
Expertise and leadership regarding payroll requirements for employee equity grants/vesting, including multinational taxation and expatriate employees
Experience with Workday Payroll is required
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain continuous engagement within the team and across departments
