Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 8 years of demonstrated results or a Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience. Full experience within own IT field and applications is required. 

The successful Lead Windows System Administrator must have:

  • Demonstrate 5-8 yrs. of directly related experience in Tier II and Tier III support
  • 5+ years' experience with Installing, configuring and supporting windows-based applications on Windows 7, 8, and 10 desktop systems, both virtual and physical
  • Analyzing requirements for deployment of new desktop applications, creating deployment plans and automation processes for new applications
  • Extensive knowledge of Server and PC hardware and software maintenance
  • Hands-on experience managing Windows Active Directory Services
  • Demonstrated experience with WSUS and preferred experience with System Center Configuration Manager for patch management
  • Demonstrated experience with Group Policy Management, to include creation of policies, troubleshooting and maintaining
  • Desktop Image creation and validation using System Center Configuration Manager
  • Maintaining updated drive packs for various hardware vendors including Dell and HP
  • Hands-on experience supporting additional Microsoft products (Office, Project, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in utilization of Remedy
  • Familiar with antivirus and security software (HBSS) and troubleshooting services affected by these software applications
  • Proficient with TCP/IP network protocol, to include a basic understanding of networking components (switches, routers, taclanes, etc.) and infrastructure -Demonstrated experience with applying STIGs to systems, applications and components and troubleshooting STIG related issues
  • Demonstrates experience administrating Hyper-V and clustered services
  • Must be able to travel 75% of the time (CONUS) - *work remote when not traveling

This position requires a minimum of an active TS/SCI clearance. If required by Customer, must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • A minimum of a IAT Level II (DoD 8570.1M) certification is required: e.g. GIAC Security Essentials - GSEC; CompTIA Security+ CE; Security Certified Network Professional - SCNP; Systems Security Certified Practitioner - SSCP
Responsibilities for this Position

Highlights of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform integration of new capabilities (software, hardware, etc) following an iterative agile approach (such as Scrum)
  • Develops and coordinates functional, environmental, operational, security and/or performance tests on hardware, software, and systems
  • Assists with the design, development and implementation of cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting of hardware, software and systems
  • Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment including models and simulations
  • Isolates and documents issues and defects
  • Creates installation and configuration documentation, test cases and test reports
  • Implement and configure baseline test automation processes using third party tools
  • Supports the generation of technical engineering products by applying the appropriate government standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects - be familiar with the Special Access Programs operational support activities;
  • key to the successful deployment, integration, and troubleshooting with operations personnel i
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement fix
  • Liaison with vendors, Products Team and Operations for problem resolution
  • Performs periodic duties within Operations to maintain understanding of operational needs
  • Works on advanced applications that may result in new business for the company

 The Windows Administrator must have:

  • Applicants must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher
  • Support operations and improvements to the following services including, but not limited to:
  • Active Directory Domain Services / Active Directory Federation Services.
    • Microsoft Productivity Suite (Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business, File Server).
    • Windows Server and Windows Desktop Management.
    • Effective experience with test engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Proven working experience with installing, configuring, testing and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft (MS) Windows within a lab and operational environment
  • Familiar with MS Windows Server 2016 services; configuration, management and troubleshooting MS Windows services like exchange server, RDP services, Active Directory management, Key Management Service as a minimum
  • Familiar with HP family of products to include DL’s servers, Zx workstations, T630/T640 Thin Clients, P2000/MSA 2xxx SANS as well as Cisco Fabric Switches and Dell Latitudes
  • Experience with the maintenance and update of relevant system process documentation and develop ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Experience with system processes and scripting languages in a RHEL environment
  • Expert working technical knowledge of RHEL and MS Windows operating systems commands and utilities
  • Expert knowledge of implementing patch management for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and MS Windows based systems from a centralized management solution as well as Kickstarter, PXE and Anaconda
  • Familiar with configuration, provisioning, management and troubleshooting ESXi VM Ware, RedHat oVirt, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or DoD Fences cloud solution
  • Solid scripting skills; developing, maintaining custom shell scripts, able to troubleshoot scripts related to Bourne, C shell, Korn or Perl
  • Proven experience with Splunk architecture i.e., Forwarders, Indexers, Indexer Clustering & Load Balancing, Search Heads, DB Connect and Deployment server
  • Task oriented person and able to adjust priorities as needed
  • General knowledge in IT government security accreditations and certification i.e., Risk Management Framework (RMF) and other approved government IT security standards, policies and directives
  • Demonstrate good communication skills, written and spoken and be capable of presenting technical concepts to audiences of various technical abilities

If performed in Colorado, this position has a salary range of USD $91,464.00/Yr. - USD $123,600.00/Yr.
