The incumbent performs sonographic studies according to the established imaging and patient care protocols of the Diagnostic Imaging Department in order to obtain accurate ultrasound diagnosis.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSee Table of Organization.EDUCATION EXPERIENCEGraduate from AMA approved school of sonography and preparing for certification exam for registered sonographer or has been performing ultrasound prior to and continuously since October 1996 and evaluated by a responsible physician to assure competence. The Ultrasound Technologist (Registry Eligible) will demonstrate a general aptitude and understanding for sonographic technology. Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) strongly preferred.License/Certifications*Registry eligible in Physics and Abdomen or OB/GYN within 6 months of hire unless has been performing ultrasound prior to and continuously since October 1996 and evaluated by a responsible physician to assure competence.*Other registries within 12 months of hire unless he/she has been performing ultrasound prior to and continuously since October, 1996 and evaluated by a responsible physician tassure competence.*CPR requiredRequirements No additional requirements from any stated in the above description.
