Full-time, some evening/weekend hours required Summary: The Behavior Clinician II is responsible for developing, writing, and evaluating behavior treatment plans; selecting and running of assessments; and selecting and implementing functionally-based interventions. S/he assists in crisis intervention and makes recommendations regarding students’ overall treatment. Additionally, in the absence of the Behavior Services Supervisor, the Behavior Clinician II will approve student treatment plans or programs, attend meetings in place of the Behavior Supervisor, represent the Clinical Department to outside agencies, and provide supervision of behavior personnel. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring that policies/procedures regarding behavior management adhere to all regulatory and agency guidelines Meet with day and residential staff to answer questions relating to behavioral issues Manage communication between service areas pertaining to individual students’ behavior problems and strengths Responsible for helping staff to implement and evaluate behavior plans in both the day and residential programs Observe staff and students in learning environments and crisis situations in both the day and residential programs and makes recommendations for programmatic changes Observe staff in both the day and residential programs to ensure staff adherence to Behavior Management and Crisis intervention Policy/Procedures Monitor and provide feedback to staff based on direct observation of behavior plan implementation Spend a minimum of 5 hours per week in residences or more as needed Chart and review student data at a bi-weekly Psychiatric meeting, behavior problem solving meetings, IEP, and Progress Review meetings Provide informal staff training by modeling appropriate staff-student interactions and providing feedback to staff Serves as a member of the Behavior Plan Review Committee (BPRC) Participate in the behavioral portion of I.E.P. process, making changes or revisions to, as needed Provide supervision/monitoring of students during breaks, lunches, community trips, and other times as assigned/necessary, including covering for absent members of teaching staff Function as part of the AM Team (Teaches students, or monitors the performance of the skills/behaviors required for effectively accomplishing their morning routine) Able to assist individuals in evacuation from school or residence Able to transport students to and from school, home or community activities Implement crisis intervention techniques when necessary Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job Other related duties as assigned by Behavior Services Supervisor Qualifications: BA/MA in related field required; BCBA/LABA required Training or experience with a population with developmental disabilities and social/emotional challenges preferred Experience in developing, writing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of behavior programs Experience in completing and summarizing behavioral assessments Professional proficiency in written and spoken English Ability to secure reliable transportation to 18 locations in Massachusetts Must be able to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (via certification through CPI) Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and deescalate individuals who have limited cognition Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel The Guild for Human Services is committed to equal opportunity in all aspects of employment for qualified individuals.
