You will both possess and build upon domain Subject Matter Expertise and lead your team to do the same.As a Senior Virtualization & Host Platform Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for: Managing, mentoring, and growing a team of talented site reliability engineersBeing an integral part of new product development by defining requirements and service level objectivesCollaborating with our support, operations, and engineering teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and remediate complex problemsDesigning and implementing enhancements to our observability and monitoring infrastructure and coverage in order to identify and correct problems before they impact our customersDeveloping processes, plans, and infrastructure to safely and efficiently deploy new software components and updates at scaleParticipating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will: Have relevant experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Engineering , Computer Science or its equivalentHave excellent communication, mentorship, and interpersonal skillsAble to work in alignment with and contribute to strategic business initiatives by coordinating and guiding the work of other engineersPossess advanced level experience with and understanding of designing, implementing, and deploying softwarePossess advanced level experience with and understanding of infrastructure at scale leveraging automation and infrastructure as codePossess engineering expertise in Linux system internals, kernel, common Linux virtualization technologies like QEMU/KVM, hardware/software interface layers, and/or advanced Linux system administration Work in a way that works for youFlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
