Director of Procurement

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON:

Direct and support procurement resources and category leads as they work with business leaders during all phases of the planning and sourcing of materials for food products. The Director will drive the procurement initiatives across all facets, including category strategies, spend analysis, risk management, delivery, contracting, cost savings methodology, performance reporting, partner engagement, and proficiency with procurement technologies. S/he will be responsible for shaping and supporting an ongoing supplier relationship management process including co-manufacturers, logistics and 3rd party services.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH:

As a leader in Supply Chain, you will report directly to the SVP of Operations. You will work closely with peers across the supply chain (Operations, Logistics, Quality, R&D, Finance). This role provides the Director an opportunity to lead, present to, and influence senior leadership to gain support for key initiatives and strategies.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience10+ years of directly relevant work experience in commodity, direct and indirect materials, distribution, logistics, supply chain operations, with expertise in perishable food consumer goods
• Track record of delivering consistent results in sustainable cost-reduction, inventory management while delivering exceptional service support to a fast-paced, customer service oriented food CPG
• Deep understanding of commodity meat markets, packaging and direct materials
• An ability to think strategically and work hands-on with a culturally-diverse team, to implement initiatives with agility and speed
• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional and virtual teams
• Effective written and verbal communication skills (including ability to define problems and lead teams in solving them)
• Consistent record in leading business and supplier partner relationships
• Experience using different negotiation tactics including clean-sheeting and total cost modeling; proven success negotiating multi-million dollar contracts
• Rigorous cost savings approaches and analytics, with expertise in total delivered cost approach to spend management (supply management, demand management, process management)
• Familiarity with product management and development approaches, including consumer insights and competitive product analysis
• Experience working on contract development activities, including knowledge of standard contract structures and key terms
• Strong project management, including developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results
• Experience in developing talent in procurement disciplines
• Experience with SAP & e-Sourcing tools is a plus
