Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) Nurse

Position Summary:

A Clinical Advancement Nurse will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to assigned patients while working towards one of five CAP levels. This program offers increasing compensation and a sign-on bonus and Relocation Reimbursement may be provided.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols and demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
  • Administer medication and assist with special tests and procedures
  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required and ensure patient medical records contain necessary information
  • Answer telephones and triage calls
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care

Qualifications

  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification w/in 6 months, Basic Arrhythmia Cert w/in 1 year

Physical Conditions:

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently

Working conditions:

  • Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE
