**Wage:**

4.50 per hour.

Monday Thursday 8am to 4.30pm 30 min break

Friday 8 am to 3.30pm 30 min break

39 hours

**Vacancy Description**

Some of your tasks will include:

* Take measurements and calculate the quantity of materials needed

* Safely erect and dismantle access equipment and working platforms

* Prepare surfaces for decoration, in line with working instructions to include:

-Removing existing paint and/or paper

-Repair and making good of surfaces

-Use of primer and sealer

* Brushing and rolling paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes

* Select and prepare adhesives, and apply papers to ceilings and walls

* Cleaning, maintenance, and storage of materials

* Attend College on a day release basis, and undertake any additional training as requested

* Take part in the apprentice review process

* Follow Health & Safety policy and procedures, including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) where needed.

* Use all tools, equipment, and materials safely in accordance with COSHH regulations

* Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, customers, and managers

**Skills Required**

* Can understand and follow instructions

* Can work as part of a team

* Good knowledge of English and communication skills

* Good understanding of maths

* Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times

* Can pay close attention to detail

* Can be flexible in work activities, locations, and hours of work

* Ability to work in external environments and work at height

**Qualifications**

**D/3** *or above in English and Maths GCSE is the Entry Requirments for this course. We will ask for evidence of this when applying. If you cannot provide evience, we unfortunatly cannot progress with your application.*

**Things to consider:**

You must have a definite interest in practical tasks and Painting and Decorating. You must be able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
