Director, Executive Development - Virtual Position
The primary purpose of the role is to drive strategy and create solutions that develop and increase the effectiveness of senior leaders. The Director will report to the Vice President of Talent Management. Along with the VP, this individual will drive the approach and creation of leadership development frameworks used across the company, including the leader model and development architecture. This leader will assess current solutions and determine gaps in offerings, identifying and recommending new solutions that enable leaders to lead themselves, lead their teams, and lead the business. The focus of this role will be on senior leadership (Director +) audiences, but overarching frameworks and models will touch all people leaders. The Director will ensure that solutions are relevant to business needs and that measurement is in place to evaluate the impact of development solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and expand executive development strategy for the company with a 1-2 year focus.
- Create and update the Caliber Leader Model competencies that will be used as the foundation for leadership development assets.
- Develop an integrated Leadership Development Architecture that will serve as the framework for development solutions offered to various leadership levels.
- Build, curate, and deploy a set of core leadership development assets for individual leaders, teams, and leadership audiences.
- Determine accelerated development solutions for high-potential leaders.
- Develop internal and external coaching practice and mentoring programs to support individual leaders during transitions and to accelerate their readiness for other roles.
- Offer one-on-one coaching and development plans to senior executives and other people leaders.
- Build high-performing senior leadership teams through team effectiveness facilitation/consulting.
- Partner with L&D to ensure the leadership model and architecture are effectively applied at front-line supervisory/manager levels within the company.
- Manage relationships with external executive development service providers.
- Develop metrics and generate insights to ensure that development programs are producing a positive change in behavior and results of participants.
- Initially, this role will not have direct reports but over time, this individual will likely need to staff the function and develop the team.
- 10+ years of Executive or Leadership Development experience
- 10+ years of Management experience
- 8+ years of experience working directly with senior management, C-Suite, and/or CEO
- Experience working in organizations with multi-site operations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Leadership Development, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology or related fields
- 5+ yeas of Talent Management experience - Succession Planning, Performance Management, Change Management, Organizational Development,
- Experience building leadership development architecture and competency models.
- Experience and/or certification in coaching and mentoring senior leaders.
- Experience facilitating leadership development, team effectiveness, and strategy sessions.
- Understanding and application of development assessments and 360s.
- Level of audiences (executives) requires a high level of innovation and experience
- Design principles for leadership development architecture work is complex
- internal stakeholders will be executives that this role will need to influence regularly
- Will manage people indirectly throughout the organization
- Given the current state maturity level, this person will be required to build/create based on experience (this is not a retooling exercise; new and first time processes will be needed)
- Will work with VP on strategy but will be asked to bring recommendations based on expertise
