Ensures materials and products are loaded properly, handled safely, and delivered in a timely manner in compliance with Federal and State Department of Transportation regulations for commercial motor carriers.

Job Description

Primary Location:

Ogden, Utah

Schedules drivers to deliver loads to specific locations using independent judgement to drive the best, most cost effective results.

Drives truck safely and courteously throughout yard movement.

Give instructions to other drivers and outside carriers.

Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations and complete pre-trip inspections.

Organizes loads, trucks and trailers to coincide with available drivers using discretion to ensure productivity requirements are met.

Completes driver portion of bills of lading and other designated forms and documents.

Verifies continually that drivers are qualified (having passed all applicable DOT regulations) to operate commercial motor carrier vehicles.

Operates/drives tractor to position trailers in designated parking area or bay for loading, unloading and dispatch.

Ensures loads are properly positioned and secured.

Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.

Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor trailer combination to transport and occasionally deliver products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form. Drivers will operate primarily in the yard, moving and operating tractor trailers
