Registered Nurse - Sign On Bonus

We are seeking a committed and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Newborn ICU team. In this role, you will provide safe direct care to an assigned group of patients and ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures. We participate in a Clinical Advancement Program that offers increasing compensation based on education and certifications. Successful candidates are eligible for sign-on bonuses and relocation reimbursement. You'll receive 17% weekday nights, 26% weekend nights, or 15% weekend day shift differentials. This position is for 0.90 FTE and requires working night shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required.
  • Work within Hospitals, Nursing division, and departmental policies.
  • Work in collaboration with the healthcare team, implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
  • Participate in orientation and upon successful completion of preceptor training assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients.
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information.
  • Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy.
  • Administer medication, including IV medication via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops.
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety.
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk.
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement.
  • CPR certification for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers.
  • Heavy work, with physical demand requirements in excess of those for medium work.
