The People Systems Implementation and Technology Specialist role is a crucial component of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for People, Culture and Belonging at Vanderbilt University. Central to our mission of fostering a transformative culture and talent development, this position is instrumental in evolving the experiences of our staff and faculty. Serving a community of over 7,000 faculty and staff, and indirectly influencing the journey of more than 14,000 students, this role is integral to Vanderbilt’s dedication to creating a community where each individual's path is deeply valued. Duties and responsibilities To enable the division to maximize the use of technology to support decision-making and planning. Responsible for managing critical end-to-end user experience products. Build the next generation of PCB Products to include but not limited to a talent marketplace, job architecture, and work, workforce, and workplace of the future applications Utilize Design Thinking principles and UI/UX analytics tools to enhance staff experiences. Identify systems and tools to leverage technology adoption to drive a better employee experience. Analyzes operational processes and recommends process improvement strategies for based upon overall support impact. Monitor and report on the progress of HR projects and deadlines, ensuring they stay on track and within defined timeline. Collaborates closely with leaders within Vanderbilt University Information Technology (VUIT) to address and improve the division overall employee technology experience. Collaborate with VUIT to explain the detailed requirements and assist the developer to test. Maintains transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information through department meetings, one-on-ones, online correspondence, and regular interpersonal communications. Project management; process improvement Perform application walkthroughs, fit/gap analyses, workshops, business process analyses, specifications, test plans, trouble shooting, acceptance testing and training. Create Standard Operational Procedures (SOP), guidelines and documentation Supervisory Relationships This position does not have supervisory responsibility, the position reports administratively and functionally to the Chief of Staff of People, Business and Culture. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required A Master’s degree or higher is preferred. Seven years as a software engineer, including leadership experience. Experience in human resources or related area in higher education. Specialized Skills Expertise in application development life cycle, innovative development solutions, Agile project management and Design Thinking. Experience in designing immersive experiences using technology such as AR, VR, AI, and cloud-based solutions. Proven UX/UI experience in consumer-facing mobile apps. Strong knowledge of mobile standards (Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Android Material Design), trends, techniques, and practices. Working knowledge/hands-on experience with tools like Figma, InVision, Adobe XD, Sketch. Familiarity with business applications like Oracle Cloud HCM, Artificial Intelligence; implementation experience desirable. Human Resources Information Systems experience with Oracle Cloud.
