The data analyst with collaborate with corporate medical and corporate compliance in assigning standard codes (order and result/LOINC codes) to all BU databases, in order to establish and maintain corporate wide code mapping system.

The data analyst will create and maintain large database of cross-laboratory data. This individual will collaborate with laboratory file maintenance personnel to troubleshoot and resolve various coding. He/she will create and maintain QTIM Master and standard conventions documents, that support standardization and Master Data management initiatives. Collaborate with Marketing/Clinical Franchise Managers to provide test data information for the Directory of Services and other Specialty manuals. The data analyst is key contact and administrator for all NSDB communications in ITM (Intellitest Manager).Responsible for naming of new tests in various databases and Directory of Services.

Position Accountabilities Include:

  • Work independently, interacting with corporate and local teams as a subject matter expert in all areas of test data management including mapping, national test codes, facility codes, site codes to ensure end user requirements and needs are met internally and externally.
  • Manage the "Directory of Services" to ensure an accurate and user friendly representation of test offerings to our clients both electronically and in print. As well as, responsible for updating yearly CPT code pages in the Directory of services.
  • Key participant in the Directory of Services yearly initiative team. Monitor and review DOS data from QTIM to ensure updates are correct and made in a timely manner. Provide data from QTIM for other Specialty manuals as needed.
  • Investigate and analyze the validity, accuracy and effect of data changes across multiple large databases to cross match test codes, result codes, and bill codes.
  • Review and substantiate National Test Codes (NTC's) requests to ensure appropriate documentation has been provided to submit for approvals in Compliance, Corporate Medical and Medical Affairs.
  • Utilize knowledge of methodologies and testing to determine and accept, pending or denial decision.
  • Map accepted order codes to NTCs (National Test Codes) and result codes / standard result codes (SRC's)
  • Work independently with Rosetta (Translation Engine) and site to site interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross functional team members to create algorithm and rules to ensure functionality implemented with Rosetta meets business needs.
  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of all data standards established by Test Master Data Steward.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of system enhancements. Design test cases and perform "User Acceptance Testing" (UAT).
  • Build the QTIM master record and control the formatting and publishing of test codes to the web.
  • Test Naming: Collaborate with various medical directors, scientific directors, lab managers, marketing product owner and directors, and best practice teams, to ensure consistency across all business units, as well as ensuring proper alphabetic sorting in printed material.
  • Core member of Test Naming Conventions process development team to create companywide process to be rolled out to all stakeholders.
  • Apply broad knowledge of medical testing (such as methodologies, specimen requirements, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, etc.) as a broad spectrum of overall job responsibilities.
  • Create and perform queries on multiple large databases to cross match test order, result and bill codes. Mapping order codes to NTCs (National Test Codes) and result codes to LOINC.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Regulatory and Corporate Compliance to assign appropriate LOINC codes to result codes for corporate wide distribution.

Education Required:B.S. or equivalent in medically related field required. MT (ASCP) preferred

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years Laboratory operation processes.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in laboratory systems (LIS)
  • Expert knowledge of test codes and methods available is helpful.
  • Previous experience with QTIM tools, test mapping and DOS/Test Menu processes.

Other Requirements:

  • Good judgment and organizational skills. Duties are very complex and require that multiple computer systems are updated, synchronized, coordinated.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must coordinate implementation of database changes over different systems.
  • Wide range access to confidential, sensitive information, which requires discretion.
  • Adherence to standard conventions that support standardization of databases.
  • Make recommendations where applicable
