This will include daily communication with customers and drivers/carrying companies.Responsibilities:Consolidates client orders into optimal load profiles and assigns carriers to loads utilizing the Transportation Management System (TMS)Responsible for load planning, optimization, routing, and scheduling of all transportation modesDevelops and implements final stage system parameters that drive system load assignments that identify, build and book loads in compliance with client routing expectations, driving financial impact to clientHas thorough understanding of carrier's equipment portfolio and service areaNegotiates with carriers for non-contracted lanes (spot quoting) and makes decisions on behalf of client within individual client parameters; makes best financial decision as representative for clientExpedites shipments, when necessary, on behalf of clientResponds to client needs by answering e-mails, calls, tracking and moving shipmentsServes as the daily direct point of contact for client; direct point of contact for client shipping issues that require immediate attentionMonitors and ensures on-time pick-up and deliveryRecommends corrective action management to resolve customer concernsMonitors and ensures timely receipt of carrier documentation and invoicesParticipates in cross-training with Planners as each is expected to be able to step in and support client(s) at any given timeOther duties as required and assignedQualificationsExcellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customersExcellent planning and organizational skillsStrong problem-solving skillsQuality driven and results orientedAbility to multitaskEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum 2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 1 year experience in customer service or transportation roleExperience with Transportation Management SystemsPC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and ExcelAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
