Required credentials include a current CPR certification, RN licensure in New Mexico (or under a reciprocal agreement), and national certification in a specialty. The role may involve heavy work, subject to exposure to biohazardous materials and chemicals.

  • Implement nursing strategic initiatives for quality improvement and compliance with standards and policies
  • Assign nursing personnel and staff to provide safe direct care to patients
  • Supervise and direct staff, ensure adherence to standards, and act as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and families
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and encourage patient participation in care
  • Participate in orientation and staff development activities to promote growth and education
  • Follow patient safety protocols and report concerns in a timely manner
