If you are a compassionate and organized individual with excellent interpersonal skills, we encourage you to apply and be a part of our mission to provide quality care to the Annapolis community.ResponsibilitiesPatient Check-In and Check-Out: Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner.Accurately verify patient information and insurance details during check-in.Collect co-pays and other payments, provide receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.Schedule follow-up appointments and update patient records.Communication: Answer incoming calls and address patient inquiries, appointment requests, and other concerns.Respond to emails and HER messages promptly and professionally, forwarding messages to the appropriate staff members as necessary.Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule appointments for multiple physicians and medical staff.Ensure the appointment schedule is efficiently organized, considering patient preferences and clinic availability.Confirm upcoming appointments and manage appointment reminders.Medical Records Management: Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.Prepare and transfer medical records as required, following established protocols.Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.Help coordinate patient flow and assist in resolving any scheduling conflicts.Ensure the reception area is clean and well-organized.Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and pre-authorization as needed.Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and options.Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinic staff to ensure efficient patient care.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.Additional responsibilities, as assigned .RequirementsEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEEducation and Work Experience:Must possess a high school diploma or GEDSPECIFIC REQUIREMENTSKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Microsoft Word, Power Point, ExcelMicrosoft OutlookMeditech (if applicable to position)Epic (if applicable to position)Performance Manager/NetLearningComputer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.Other Requirements:TypingPatient SchedulingCustomer ServiceKnowledge of basic medical terminology.Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients, visitors, employees, and hospital personnel in exchanging and relaying information and in providing client care.Ability to work in a demanding and challenging environment.Supports the team effort through a willingness to work beyond normal working hours.Follows written and oral instructions.Knowledge of duties and use of office equipment.Must have excellent telephone demeanor.Must possess excellent hygiene and grooming habits.Ability to prioritize work load for the most efficient performance.#LI-LL1Mercy Health Services is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy.
