Accountabilties: + Performs preliminary ophthalmic work such as obtaining medical and ocular histories, obtaining pressures, medication reconciliation, completing an external exam. + Performs automated and manual testing such as auto refractions, auto keratometry, corneal topography, fundus photos, ocular coherence tomography, pachymetry, tonometry, and visual fields. + Administers topical eye drops and ointments upon written physician order or written protocol. + Assists with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments in exam/treatment rooms including prepping patients for sterile procedures. + Reviews patients charts prior to physician exam to anticipate procedures and supplies or equipment that may be needed. + Prepares instruments for sterilization. + Other additional duties as required. Education - Required High School Diploma/GED Prior clinical experience in an ophthalmic practice for at least one year Proficiency with EMR/PM system(s) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Experience -Preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Individual must be patient centered and employee focused, must have demonstrated the ability to multi-task
