What you will do Work closely with the Facilities group and other trades in support of HVAC planned and unplanned maintenance to increase the reliability of systems. Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration units, isolated heating, and ventilating units, including boilers, gas and electrically operated air-conditioning equipment, and made necessary adjustments or repairs. Supervise, oversee, and coordinate regular and timely technical reviews of HVAC related Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design optimization in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices. Maintains records for uptime/downtime events and inventory of repair supplies and materials. Work from complex blueprints, schematics, drawings, and written and verbal instructions to carry out work on heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment. Requires plumbing of refrigeration system for pneumatic, chilled, and tower water branch ties. Install and repair controls and systems by using various meters, gages, indicators, and leak detectors as well as the ability to balance air systems. Work with a project team and assist in the design of HVAC systems. Assist Project Engineer with reports, calculations, computer simulations, and design/layout of HVAC systems. Candidate must have demonstrated experience and knowledge in performing a complete installation of HVAC equipment and troubleshooting and servicing old and new units. Oversee the reliability of compressed air systems. Work with Maintenance and Engineering to provide training and support major repairs or replacement of systems. Actively participate in safety briefings. What you will need High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required). Must have and maintain an HVAC license in North Carolina. Ability to communicate on a professional level with many internal and external customers. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Able to wear and comply with all personal protective equipment (Eye and ear protection, steel-toed shoes,) Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards. Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
