Lingo Staffing is Hiring for a Medical Coding Specialist

Shift: Monday to Friday / 8 AM CST to 5 PM CST Pay Rate: $20-$22 DOE

Experience: A minimum of three to five years experience in ED coding. Experience in Professional Billing EMR workflows is preferred.
Certification(s): AAPC, AHIMA or Certified Coding credential (excludes apprenticeship classification) Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with MS office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Job description: ED coding

Accurate Coding: Review medical records and documentation to assign appropriate codes to professional and facility services, including procedures, diagnoses, and treatments, using current coding standards such as CPT and ICD-10-CM. Coders in this position are held accountable for adhering to coding and compliance guidelines.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure coding compliance with relevant regulations, guidelines, and policies. Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to obtain necessary documentation and resolve any coding-related queries, all while adhering to Coding and Billing policies.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives related to coding accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Knowledgeable in Anatomy and Physiology of the human body, Disease Pathology, and Medical Terminology in order to understand the etiology, pathology, symptoms, signs, diagnostic studies, treatment modalities, and prognosis of diseases and procedures performed.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex medical documentation to accurately assign appropriate codes.
Coding Software Proficiency: Proficient in using coding software.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with the team
Compliance Knowledge: Thorough understanding of coding compliance.
