JOB SUMMARY: The respiratory Director is responsible for the overall direction of the respiratory therapy department including scheduling, chart audits, evaluate and maintain equipment and supplies, maintaining protocols to meet state and federal guidelines, staff and family education. GENERAL DUTIES: • Oversees the leadership and development of RT supervisors and ensures the work of subordinates is allocated and monitored appropriately • Integrates the department s services with the hospitals primary functions • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services • Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care/service and assures the qualifications and competence of those staff members (who are not licensed independent practitioners) meet the needs of patient care and non-patient care services • Provides orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in their department(s) • Continuously assesses and improves their department s performance and maintains appropriate quality control programs Qualifications: • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) • State Registered Respiratory Therapist • Associate Degree • Minimum five years RT experience, including adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care • One year of recent supervisory/charge experience • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor BENEFITS: •401K •Annual evaluations •Dental insurance •Disability insurance •Electronic documentation •Employee appreciation events •Health insurance •Life insurance •Modified Comp •Paid time off •Tuition reimbursement •Vision insurance
