POSITION SUMMARY: The Community Services Coordinator facilitates the delivery of education, referral, and support services to volunteers, parents, caregivers, students, and the public by maintaining a robust volunteer program, performing intake and scheduling services; partnering with leading academic institutions to provide dynamic, and community-based service-learning experiences for student interns. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Volunteer Service Support

Develop and implement strategies to recruit & screen volunteers and interns for all programs. Establish and sustain leadership positions for volunteers, Parent Leaders, and service participants by, in part, developing a unique process for program participants to transition over time into volunteer positions within the agency as appropriate. Recruit and coordinate donor gifts for program participants and plan agency-wide volunteer recognition events. Seek out funding sources and assist with grant writing, as necessary. 2. Direct Services

Responsible for scheduling program orientations using agency calendar and database. Track all caller information electronically through internal database. Coordinate regular orientations and on-boarding training for interns and volunteers. Assist with providing coverage on the 24-hour Parent Helpline. Provide callers education and referrals by means of telephone, email, electronic chat responses, and in person. Jointly with the caller, identify community resources, internally and externally, that would help meet client needs. 3. Community Coalition Building

Generate partnerships with corporations and civic organizations to develop “pools†of potential volunteers. Advance unique partnerships with universities, colleges, non-profits, and the business community that support the professional development of staff, volunteers, interns, and Parent Leaders. 4. Administration and Data Collection

Devise methods for tracking volunteer efforts and standardizing volunteer records. Recommend annually a budget to support program activities and services. 5. Other duties

Work in a cooperative and professional manner with staff, Board members, and donors. Assist with department tasks as needed. EDUCATION:

 Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Mental Health, Nursing, and Education). SKILLS:

Have at least 3 years of experience working in a non-profit field, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience. Working knowledge of community resources. Program development/implementation experience. Experience working with volunteers from various backgrounds including interns, professionals, donors, and community members. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings. Must be prepared to travel to various program sites, and various communities.
