Human Resources Assistant

Mud Pie is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team to assist with daily HR duties. This position will support recruiting and onboarding of new employees, engaging in employee outreach, administering compensation and benefits, and other functions as needed. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communications kills, the ability to self-manage and work well under tight deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in recruitment efforts, including, but not limited to, creating job postings, screening resumes, scheduling job interviews, attending university career fairs, working with outside recruiters, drafting offer letters, etc.
- New Hire preparation (desk, equipment, systems and payroll set up) and first day orientation
- Assist in exit processing (separation paperwork and systems termination)
- Support Mud Pie’s corporate and warehouse employees with general human resources questions related to payroll, compensation, policies and benefits
- Update and maintain employee and human resources records, files and databases
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately
- Assist with benefits administration tasks and record keeping, including new hire enrollment, annual open enrollment, life event changes
- Handle all HR related safety committee tasks, including monthly audits, active employee rosters, OSHA reporting, administering safety trainings and other duties as needed
- Candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
- 0-1 year of experience
- Experience in recruiting a plus
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and is comfortable working with a wide variety of personalities and management styles
- Possess strong professionalism skills
- Problem-solver with the ability to identify issues and propose thoughtful solutions
- Must have clear written and verbal communications skills
- Maintain flexibility and a positive attitude under pressure
- Be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information
- Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements that impact the Company and the Human Resources Department
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal, corporate, financial information
