Position Description: Culver-Stockton College is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of Payroll/Administration & Finance Specialist. The Payroll/Administration & Finance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and policies. Responsibilities: * Manage the full payroll cycle, including processing payroll, ensuring accuracy of data entry, and verifying timekeeping records. * Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines. * Process payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other withholdings accurately and in a timely manner. * Prepare and distribute payroll reports to various departments and stakeholders as needed. * Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues. * Maintain payroll records and files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. * Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution. * Implement and maintain payroll systems and software, making recommendations for improvements or updates as needed. * Prepare all payroll journal entries and accruals. * Assist with fiscal-year end audit of payroll. * Other accounting tasks as needed. * Assist with benefits administration and reconciliation. * Assist with managing workers compensation program in coordination with the Department of Human Resources Education & Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. * Experience in payroll processing and management, preferably in a higher education or non-profit setting. * Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations, including FLSA, IRS regulations, and state tax laws. * Experience with payroll software and systems, preferably Jenzabar or similar platforms. * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile discrepancies and resolve issues effectively. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with employees at all levels. * Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
