Overview

National multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a talented Marketing Manager to join their Washington D.C. metro office. The firm has 12 offices all around the world focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects. Recently, the firm won the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Building, along with IIDA Healthcare Design Award.

The team is looking for a person who is passionate about building awareness and understanding of the company's brand and the remarkable work being done by our national, multidisciplinary design firm of 1,000+ people across 12 locations. This role reports to the Director of Marketing manages a team of curious and talented Senior Marketing Coordinators, and strategizes, plans, manages, and executes marketing activities collaboratively with the Marketing, Communications, and Practice teams. We have an outstanding marketing team who love what they do and love to have fun along the way. Use your understanding of our industry and markets, expertise, and relationships to make a positive, measurable impact. Working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, you guide your team in strategizing and building compelling content through the creation of proposals, presentations, collateral, and more.

Responsibilities
This role primarily:
  1. Leads, creates, manages, and executes the company's marketing activities working with internal partners to gather requirements and develop strategy.
  2. Works with office director and local practice group leaders to build and execute a comprehensive marketing plan to champion strategies and drive the goals of the office.
  3. Acts as the conduit to connect and assign copywriting, design, web design, and other duties as appropriate to support PR, Digital, Brand, Awards, and Photography.
  4. Manages external relationships with marketing communications vendors and professional organizations.
  5. Recruits, trains, and manages marketing staff through the development of goals, objectives, and systems.
  6. Manages the implementation of new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in the efficiency of the Marketing department and performed services.
To do this job well, the following knowledge, skills, and abilities are important.

Knowledge of:
  • Intermediate Marketing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Marketing communications processes and techniques
Skilled with:
  • Strong graphic design abilities and proficient use of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Copywriting/editing skills
  • Skill with CRM systems (Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate level)
Ability to:
  • Lead and/or supervise Marketing department-wide procedures, standards, and workloads.
  • Collaborate with practice group leaders and business developers on the execution of strategic initiatives and champion marketing projects.
  • Direct and develop Marketing department policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of current trends and developments in marketing.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Managers across the firm to ensure consistent use of procedures and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, follow instructions, attention to detail, accuracy, meet deadlines, and follow through with strong organizational skills.
  • Adapt to change within a fast-paced, team environment, often against tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented disposition; proactive-can-do attitude and grace under pressure.
Qualifications

Background we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or another related field
  • Minimum ten years of previous marketing/communications experience
  • Experience with RFQ/RFP and interview preparation process (knowledge of architectural and/or engineering fields a plus)
  • Past team supervision
