(required to work four shifts a month, includes one weekend)The Charge Nurse (RN/LPN) in skilled careassists the RN Nurse Manager/RN Supervisor with ensuring all nursing proceduresare addressed and resident care issues are handled according to our Philosophyof Care. This care will be performed in accordance with Mennonite HomeCommunities Core Values, Mission Statement, and regulations. QUALIFICATIONS:HighSchool diploma or equivalentCurrentPA license to practice as an LPN/RNTwo(2) to four (4) years related experience and/or training preferably in askilled nursing or retirement facilityBasiccomputer skills needed. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word andOutlook RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Managesmedications, evaluates vital signs, completes treatments, and changesdressingsMonitorsindwelling catheters and peripheral IV'sLifts,turns, and transfers residents, as scheduled or as needed. Properly usesmechanical lifts and require 2 staff for all transfersMonitors,responds to, and reports health changes of residentsMonitorsthe skin condition of residents, implements appropriate procedures for skintears and pressure ulcersAssists in any emergency situationDocumentsphysician's visits, inputs/outputs, pharmacy requisitions, and daily chartingSupportsthe RN Nurse Manager in overseeing Caregiver routine duties and acts as aresource person for CaregiversMennoniteHome Communities was founded in 1903, the Christ-based mission is to enrich thelives of residents, staff, and the community.
