Job Summary

The associate full-stack developer is an entry-level position in the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) that will assist in college level communications and marketing efforts focusing on front and back-end development of the college website and news blog in WordPress. Troubleshooting website issues, running SiteImprove reports, and developing website enhancements will be a priority. This position will also assist with developing short animations (for video, e-mails, social media, etc.), presentations, e-newsletters, and marketing materials (brochures, flyers, posters, etc.), as needed. The associate full-stack developer will report to the lead multi-media designer and director for HHS Marketing and Communications. This position will be hybrid, allowing remote work as arranged with supervisor.

REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer graphics technology or related discipline
  • 0-1 year of experience in web development, communications, marketing or related field.
  • Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency and experience with WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as well as back-end technologies like databases and SQL.
  • Experience developing, creating and maintaining web pages/sites, from conception to finished product.
  • Graphic design experience with demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud design applications, to include InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects and Illustrator.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Understanding of how to create ADA compliant documents.
  • Understanding of the importance of following and implementing brand guidelines
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, website content management, internet, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to learn new software and technologies to assist the college with maintaining industry standards for virtual marketing
  • Detail-oriented, creative problem-solver with strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and to follow through on multiple projects at various stages
  • Highly motivated individual with a demonstrated capacity for leadership and teamwork
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
PREFERRED:
  • Familiarity with the Purdue Brand
  • Familiarity with designing print and digital marketing materials and related project management
  • Experience within higher education marketing or student recruitment
  • Experience preparing design files for professional printing and a familiarity with the printing process.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms
  • Experience in documenting progress in a project management system, such as Asana
  • Experience with video production and video editing
  • Experience with an email marketing automation platform, such as Delivra or Mailchimp
