Delta Air Lines has committed to an ambitious goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. 40-50% of our decarbonization pathway is reliant on the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel, SAF. As Delta Air Lines prepares to receive hundreds of millions of gallons of SAF in the not-so-distant future, there is a need to lay a strong foundation that will not only be able to receive SAF, but also adhere to the highest standards of carbon emissions accounting. You will work on Delta Air Lines' Global Sustainability team, which is responsible for realizing all of the company's near and long-term sustainability goals, including, but not limited to: more sustainable aircraft operations, reducing single-use plastics across the board, and achieving 10% SAF usage by 2030.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be key in supporting the integration of Delta Air Lines' SAF Management Platform. This integration will include the centralization of Scope 1 and Scope 3 emissions accounting, ensuring audit-readiness, and alignment with Delta Air Lines' growing SAF Program for downstream customers. You will also support broader emissions reporting initiatives and other ad-hoc sustainability efforts.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Must be enrolled as a graduate student at an accredited university.
  • Attained an undergraduate degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or other relevant fields.
  • Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

•Experience with enterprise software integrations

•Actively pursuing a graduate degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or other relevant fields
