State-of-the-art pediatric services are provided by a comprehensive staff that includes pediatric subspecialty physicians and a nursing team that is Magnet recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care. Position Summary

Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Corporate Audiology is seeking an Audiologist. Audiologist plans, executes and implements specific diagnostic evaluation and treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practice of the Audiology discipline. Also plans, executes, and implements audiology activities and maintains the highest level of clinical standards and good public relations, by creating proactive clinical strategies. Serves as a member of the professional treatment team, participates in staff discussions of patient diagnoses, progress, and treatment.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions
Assesses hearing disabilities of adults and children through the use of diagnostic tests, interviews, case histories and other appropriate measures. Takes necessary action to effect procedures which will most adequately meet the needs of the patient.
Implements activities which lead to rehabilitation of the individual with hearing loss.
Conducts and interprets tests of auditory function to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral and central nervous system disorders of the hearing mechanism including but not limited to: pure tone air and bone conduction, speech audiometry, acoustic immittance, auditory brainstem response, auditory steady state response and neurodiagnositc assessment, otoacoustic emissions, site of lesion, central auditory processing tests, tests for pseudohypocusis.
Conducts and implements procedures and programs for rehabilitation of individuals with hearing loss including: hearing aid selection and evaluation procedures, hearing aid prescriptions, earmold impressions, probe microphone measures, verification of aided responses, fitting of hearing aids and other assistive listening products; patient and/or parent questionnaires regarding hearing aids, manipulates computer software programs for prescription and modification of individuals amplification requirements,; responds to the aural rehabilitation needs of patients, counsels patients and family members concerning their hearing handicap.
Performs audiology functions at any location serviced by the Orlando Health audiology department, including hospitals, clinics, contracted facilities, and health fairs.
Documents procedure results and treatment plans using department standards and guidelines, as required by Orlando Health and professional licensure for the State of Florida.
Demonstrates competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.

Qualifications:

Education/Training


Doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited program with a current active Florida Audiology license.

Licensure/Certification


Current Audiology license in the State of Florida.
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
