Position Summary:
**Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children**
Providing compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 30 years, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is located on the downtown Orlando campus and includes 156 licensed beds for specialized care for children as well as the Bert Martin’s Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center, offering trauma care for children as the pediatric site of the Orlando Health ORMC Level One Trauma Center. State-of-the-art pediatric services are provided by a comprehensive staff that includes pediatric subspecialty physicians and a nursing team that is “Magnet” recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care. The hospital also has earned national recognition for 12 consecutive years as a “Best Children’s Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report and was included, together with Orlando Health ORMC, in the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® list for 2021.
The Audiology Department provides Audiology and Infant Screening Services. Audiology services include early identification, evaluation and rehabilitation of individuals with hearing loss. It is comprised of Pediatric and Adult Audiology services. Audiologists perform screenings, evaluations, treatments, follow-up services and recommendations. Infant Screening Services consist of Infant Hearing Screening and Infant Metabolic Screening. Infant Hearing Screening
Technicians perform in hospital newborn hearing screenings. Infant Screening Coordinators ensure metabolic screens are completed, monitor viability of each specimen, completeness of information and manage dissemination of test results.
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Corporate Audiology is seeking for **Scheduling Coordinator. **The Scheduling Coordinator will communicate regularly with physicians, which may include, patients, ancillary and surgical areas to involve scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of single/multiple tests and procedures.
**Responsibilities**:
**Essential Functions**
- Provide accurate information of department/procedure specific scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation, arrival location and time.
- Be proactive with all customers by actively listening, showing a caring attitude and offering alternatives when necessary.
- Demonstrate superb telephone etiquette, team player attitude and professional communication skills at all times.
- Understands the importance Orlando Health places on providing exemplary customer service with a Patient First Philosophy
- Exhibits working knowledge in the use of all registration, scheduling systems, and Web based resources.
- Maintains basic understanding of the medical needs during the screening process for scheduling an appointment.
- Consistently reviews the schedules daily and communicates all changes to appropriate staff.
- Consistently meets departmental goals for productivity, quality and customer service standards set by Orlando Health.
- Maintains a working knowledge of ICD-9 (ICD-10) and CPT codes, as deemed necessary.
- Identifies customer service issues and resolves or initiates necessary follow-up.
- Adheres to all portions of the Orlando Health Professional Appearance Policy at all times.
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
**Other Related Functions**
- Maintains regular communication with the practices regarding scheduling matters, as deemed necessary.
- Attends departmental meetings/in-services and participates in process improvement initiatives.
- Assume the responsibility for professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
**Education/Training**
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must complete Orlando Health medical terminology course within 90 days of hire.
**Licensure/Certification**
- None.
**Experience**
- One (1) year of retail, customer service or health care.
- Computer experience required.
