Job Responsibilities:

This role will be responsible for driving design, development, and implementation of innovative Solutions within the Welocalize AI/R&D Department, supporting the NLP Deployments, the R&D and the Language Engineering teams with the ultimate goal of meeting the company's Objectives and Key Results. The Solutions Architect Advisor is a developer-level subject matter expert in NLP technologies, language and acoustic modeling technologies, senior practitioner-level subject matter expert in Machine Learning and Data Science and has both education and field background in sound engineering and VOIP. As a subject matter expert, the Solutions Architect Advisor will represent Welocalize at industry and academic (mainly virtual) events and in positioning of AI-enabled solutions with internal stakeholders.

An essential part of this role's responsibilities is establishing partnerships with other Domains, identifying impactful opportunities for the cross-company AI enablement, and participating in setting both the short- and long-term AI roadmap and strategy for the entire company. An individual in this role should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, adept at problem solving, effective at communicating, and be strong at critical and analytical thinking.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

AIE Practice Support

  • As a part of the AIE engineering team, establish the technical infrastructure for acoustic model datasets development
  • Lead the deployment effort for the acoustic data capturing technology (telephony solution) for all data capturing scenarios
  • Through collaboration with Language Engineering, Solutions and Product teams create the framework for the AIE delivery team to be able to own the execution
Overall AI Innovation Support
  • In collaboration with R&D, NLP Deployments and Language Engineering Department leadership identify tools enablement gaps and lead/design innovation projects that will support the "AI Enabled Company" vision
  • Both take on and supervise one-off NLP development projects
REQUIREMENTS

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science on an adjacent field; 7+ years of experience in Localization Engineering, NLP tools development, acoustic engineering
Skills & Knowledge
  • Expert-level understanding of end-to-end acoustic data collection, engineering, transcription, segmentation, and labeling process
  • Expert-level understanding of correlation between language modeling and acoustic modeling requirements
  • Expert-level knowledge of audio engineering file formats and file management processes (i.e. Wav, MP3, Mov, MP4) and ability to recognize and mitigate possible process risks and challenges
  • Ability to collaborate with Development and NLP teams in SME capacity
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated focus on business impact
  • Ability to delegate work to others while ensuring that deliverables are met
  • A strong passion for solving complex business problems using a logical and analytical mindset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with business partners across the organization to collect, learn, and understand business objectives and business requirements.
  • Strong understanding of core Agile and similar project management and development principles
  • Outcome oriented with the ability to drill down from the big picture to process details and make adjustments targeting the most optimal outcomes
  • Ability to communicate objectives, plans, status and results clearly
  • Senior-level expertise in Localization engineering and solutioning
  • Track record of innovation and invention in NLP
  • Design and architecture of NLP features, using proprietary ML and integration for 3rd party Open Source applications
  • Independent creative out-of-the-box thinking when it comes to SME-level solution design
  • Requiring minimum supervision, self-motivated and self-driven
  • Capability of thinking through entire solution from inception to realization
  • Turning high-level "idea" into a viable Proof of Concept
  • Adaptive to respond to specific stakeholder requirements
  • Fiscal awareness and creative financial cost-conscious thinking
