Accountabilties:+ Performs preliminary ophthalmic work such as obtaining medical and ocular histories, obtaining pressures, medication reconciliation, completing an external exam.+ Performs automated and manual testing such as auto refractions, auto keratometry, corneal topography, fundus photos, ocular coherence tomography, pachymetry, tonometry, and visual fields.+ Administers topical eye drops and ointments upon written physician order or written protocol.+ Assists with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments in exam/treatment rooms including prepping patients for sterile procedures.+ Reviews patients charts prior to physician exam to anticipate procedures and supplies or equipment that may be needed.+ Prepares instruments for sterilization.+ Other additional duties as required. Education - RequiredHigh School Diploma/GEDPrior clinical experience in an ophthalmic practice for at least one yearProficiency with EMR/PM system(s)Proficiency with Microsoft OfficeExperience -PreferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsIndividual must be patient centered and employee focused, must have demonstrated the ability to multi-task
