Job Description: Market Intelligence and Analytics Manager

Reports to: Director of Project Development

OCI Solar Power is a respected developer, owner, and operator of utility scale solar & energy storage sites. We are seeking a Market Intelligence and Analytics Manager to provide support for a growing organization in a fast paced environment. SUMMARY:

The Market Intelligence and Analytics Manager is responsible for the ongoing monitoring, analysis, understanding, and summary of the energy market dynamics in contexts of regulatory, policy, legislative, technical, financial, emerging technologies, and competitiveness to inform, refine, and enhance the strategy and planning for project development at OCI Solar Power.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct ongoing in-depth surveillance of energy market dynamics, ensuring that OCI Solar Power remains abreast of any emerging shifts or trends in the industry.
  • Delve deep into market data, dissecting it to uncover emerging trends, potential opportunities, and challenges, and ensuring the information is used to inform company strategy and operations.
  • Stay continually updated with changes in the regulatory environment, interpreting how these shifts might impact the energy sector and, more specifically, OCI Solar Power's strategic positioning in the market.
  • Ensure a comprehensive understanding of new legislative actions affecting the renewable energy market, communicating the implications, and suggesting potential courses of action.
  • Grasp and integrate the technical nuances of market dynamics into strategic decisions, always ensuring that the technical perspective is well-represented in planning sessions.
  • Examine the financial intricacies of the energy market, considering diverse factors such as tariffs, subsidies, and market incentives, and predicting how these could influence future company projects.
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the competitive landscape, pinpointing key players, dissecting their strategies, and identifying potential opportunities or threats for OCI Solar Power in both the short and long term.
  • Regularly provide actionable insights derived from rigorous analysis, helping to shape, refine, and evolve the company's overarching market strategy in a dynamic environment.
  • Offer analytical support for project development planning, ensuring every plan aligns with current market trends and the predicted future landscape of the energy sector.
  • Consistently generate detailed reports and presentations that not only present market intelligence findings but also delve into their implications for the company, suggesting potential strategic shifts or initiatives.
  • Engage with a broad spectrum of industry stakeholders, participating in conferences, association meetings, forums, workshops, and meetings to gain firsthand market insights and establish OCI Solar Power as a key player in industry discussions.
  • Forge strong collaborative ties with other departments, ensuring that every department's approach to market analysis and strategy formulation is in sync, holistic, and well-coordinated.
  • Commit to continuous learning, keeping an eye out for emerging tools, methodologies, and best practices in market intelligence and analytics, ensuring the company remains at the cutting edge.
  • Proactively identify potential risks lurking in the market landscape, conducting thorough risk assessments, and providing well-researched recommendations to navigate and mitigate them effectively.
  • Conduct ad hoc research on special topics to support decision-making
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree in Business Administration or Market Analysis would be a significant advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in market intelligence, analytics, or a closely related role, preferably within the renewable energy sector or a similar industry.
  • A self-starter that can work independently on projects and key deliverables.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must possess excellent research and analytical abilities with capacity to effectively convey conclusions and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory and legislative environment related to the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a track record of producing detailed reports and presenting findings to senior leadership.
  • Proven capability to think strategically and link market insights to actionable business strategies and operational planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
