Senior .NET and VSTO (MS Word and Excel) Developer

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: NYC

We are seeking a strong experienced Software Engineer to improve critical software tools used widely by the analytical users. The ideal candidate is someone who:

1. Worked on technically complex systems and is currently hands-on in software development.

2. Has experience in interpreting complex requirements associated with Analytical tools.

3. Experience working in Agile environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Work in Agile Environment to Design and Architect the program

2. Work closely with project's Product Owners / Business Analyst/Enterprise Architects to understand requirements and advise on technical solutions

3. Code and test applications.

4. Provide code reviews.

5. Work with the Quality Analysts to ensure that the framework and coding standards are adhered to.

6. Liaise with users and colleagues globally for the development and support of the software.

7. Provide production support and help set support technical best practices

8. Conduct Technical Explorations and POCs to improve the teams systems.

9. Work with Product Owner and Scrum master on Sprint Ceremonies

10. Troubleshooting and Debugging applications.

Required Skills

1. Strong knowledge and a minimum of 5 years of experience of C#.NET (v4.5 minimum) and at least one of the following: ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web API or WCF (Windows Communication Foundation).

2. Minimum 4 years hands-on experience developing Visual Studio for Office (VSTO) for MS Word.

3. Minimum 2 years hands-on experience developing Visual Studio for Office (VSTO) for MS Excel

4. Hands-On experience with using C#, Linq, .Net Multi-threading and .Net design patterns.

5. Hands-On experience with Unit Testing in .Net, for example using, NUnit, XUnit FakeItEasy etc.

6. Hands-On experience with Dependency Injection in .Net, for example using Unity, NInject etc.

7. Hands-On experience with enterprise databases (NoSQL or Relational), including data modelling and design.

8. Hands-On experience with SCM tools, for example using, TFS, GIT, SVN etc.

9. Hands-On experience with CI/CD tools, for example using, Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity etc.

10. Above knowledge and experience will have been gained in a commercial environment.

Desirable skills

1. Minimum 2 year hands-on experience using SignalR and Aspose API for MS Excel and MS Word

2. MongoDB or other NoSQL database

3. Using cloud technologies from AWS or Azure in .Net

4. Using .Net Core

5. ppian

6. HTML5

7. Experience in Financial Services industry

1. Strong academic background, educated to degree level, ideally in computer science or engineering

2. Excellent interpersonal / relation building skill

3. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

4. Highly motivated to deliver results and meet deadlines
