SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST - SLP - School
Speech Language Pathologists are needed for full-time, school-based positions all throughout Wake County, NC. These positions offer full-time scheduling, Monday through Friday, 35 hours weekly for the duration of the 2024 - 2025 school year. We currently have multiple school locations available, for elementary, middle, and high school ages. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of recent pediatric/school-based experience, excel in independent time management and a fast-paced environment, be proficient in evaluations, and have excellent communication skills. New graduates will be considered. CF Supervisors offered. This district understands the importance of a supportive network of SLPs and leadership and makes that very readily available.

$1,680/weekly gross

MORE ABOUT THE SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST POSITION:
CareerStaff Unlimited partners with companies around the country to raise the bar in healthcare by setting new standards for quality care and personalized service. Responsibilities for this Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement
- Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and hearing handicapped children
- Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring to suspected and identified speech and language impairments
- Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of articulation, voice, hearing, stuttering, and language impairments
- Provides screening to identify speech-handicapped children at regular intervals and specified levels
- Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and to correct existing speech or language handicaps
- Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by making suggestions for the student's daily activities
- Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate
- Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school members on topics concerning speech improvement
- Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services
JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST:
- Successful completion of National Certification Examination
- 1+ years of recent pediatrics/school-based experience preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license in NC
- ASHA certification
