Dollar Bank is hiring for a Business Banking Underwriter. In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting all new loan applications, letters of credit, commercial credit cards and renewal applications. You will work with Business Banking representatives and Portfolio Managers to address and resolve underwriting issues. You will also work with Portfolio Managers on small business administration loan packages and loan renewals/reviews. This includes preparing loan credit proposals and conducting reviews of existing credit facilities. Successful candidates in this role typically possess the ability to work on multiple projects in a relatively fast paced environment and have strong analytical skills.

Principal Activities and Duties:

  • Responsible for the preparation of quality, detailed financial analysis including cash flow models and collateral evaluations to identify potential credit risks.
  • Review all credit information and financial statement spreads.
  • Prepare approval worksheets and/or credit proposals and obtain required signatures for approval.
  • Make recommendations in accordance with sound banking practices to minimize risk exposure.
  • Communicate and properly document credit decisions.
  • Ensure commercial loan requests adhere to Bank policies and procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable on all Banking Regulations such as Reg B, Reg Z, Reg O, Appraisal Guidelines, SBA, etc.
  • Assists on special assignments and projects.
  • All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank's risk management program. Compliance with regulatory laws and company procedures is a required component of all position descriptions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Will consider commensurate experience.
  • Ability to prioritize, switch tasks efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to analyze reports to draw accurate conclusions from data.
  • Must have ability and willingness to learn new concepts and underwriting guidelines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience (either through coursework or work experience) analyzing tax returns and financial statements.
  • Underwriting experience preferred.
