Expected salary range:
- Entry Level - $82,500
- Mid-Level - $88,000 - $108,000
- Sr Level - $115,000- $141,000
Ranges are per year based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for performing engineering and technical tasks, under general supervision, in support of nuclear plant operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision applying general engineering principles.
- Assure all engineering products prepared are in accordance with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, engineering specifications and all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of effective processes and techniques at appropriate levels of detail and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Recommend format and methodology improvements to standard processes and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Entry Level E01 Engineer &ndash New Graduate
- B.S in Engineering
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Mid-level E02 Engineer
- B.S. in Engineering, a minimum 2 years Nuclear experience or related engineering experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Senior E03 Engineer
- B.S. in Engineering, a minimum 5 years Nuclear experience or related engineering experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineer in training certification or Professional Engineer Registration
- Good grasp of techniques and a good understanding of the fundamental functions performed by the group. As responsibility increases within the organization.
- Advanced technical degree or related coursework
- Commercial or Navy Nuclear Power Plant Experience
SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION
- Programs Engineering: Monitor, enhance, and implement technical programs. Identify, schedule and oversee code and regulatory inspections per technical program requirements. Support field execution of programmatic inspections. Prepare required analysis and program documents to support inspection scopes.
- Maintains 2 programs that are mandated by the Code of Federal Regulations. Inservice Testing (IST) and Appendix J (LLRT and ILRT). IST monitors safety related pumps and valves for degradation through prescribed tests found in the ASME OM Code. Appendix J tests the leak tightness of containment. Local Leak Rate Test (LLRTs) for valves and mechanical penetrations and the ILRT is a once every 15-year test that pressurizes all of containment. With both programs, the most important aspect is to find and detect degradation so that it can be corrected. This maintains the plant at a high level of equipment and system reliability and will ensure the health and safety of the public.
