Job Summary and QualificationsShift: Night shift
The Cat Scan Tech produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- Performs Computerized Tomography Scans following protocols outlined and provided by Radiologists.
- Review of physician orders and diagnoses prior to scanning, will discuss with Radiologist as needed
- Reviews appropriate Lab values prior to administration of IV Contrast.
- Utilization of iSTAT to obtain Lab results.
- Use of power injector for contrast administration.
- Perform Scanner Quality Control testing as needed.
- Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns
- Assists physicians with invasive procedures
- Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers
- Currently licensed through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced certification in CT or must obtain advanced certification through ARRT within 12 months of hire date.
- Current state licensure or permit to practice medical imagining
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
Certification: BLS and ARRT must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
