What you get to do:

The Data Engineer builds platforms and systems to manage, store, and transfer data leveraging a wide range of systems.
  • Builds / oversees platforms and systems to manage and store data from internal and external sources by leveraging both distributed and local structures
  • Establishes processes / structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs and route appropriately using data structures available
  • Develops tools to facilitate data integration, analytics, data cleaning / transformation, and the deployment of ML/AI models

What it takes to succeed:
  • Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field
  • 5 years of Data Engineering experience
  • Working knowledge in SQL-based technologies (e.g PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (e.g. MongoDB)
  • Working knowledge in machine learning techniques and algorithms (-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.)


Core Technical Skills
  • Proficient in software development with a focus in data / data systems (Java), databases (SQL, Postgres, Mongo) and development technologies (GIT, JIRA)
  • Possesses knowledge of data pipelining, data integration, data warehouses, and databases
  • Understanding of relational and warehousing database technology working with at least one of the major databases platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQLServer, Teradata, MySQL, or Postgres)
  • Practical experience with big data processing frameworks and techniques such as HDFS, MapReduce, Storage formats (Avro, Parquet), Stream processing, etc.
  • Solid working knowledge of data processing tools using SQL, Spark, Python or similar open source and commercial technologies
  • Knowledge of non-relational (Cassandra, MongoDB) databases preferred
  • Predictive analytics and machine learning experience (scikit-learn, Tensorflow, MLlib, recommendation systems) preferred
  • Experience with integrating to back-end/legacy environments
  • Knowledge and familiarity with machine learning models application and production pipelines
