Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroad, bridge, and highway in Connecticut.  Come join our team on these exciting projects

AECOM currently provides construction engineering inspection services for

the I-95 Exit 74 Interchange Improvement project in East Lyme, Connecticut. The

purpose of the project is to correct the vertical geometry of I-95, to replace the

I-95 Bridge over Route 161, and constructing new on and off ramps at Exit 74.

Project Cost: $150M

Completion: 2027

Responsible for performing assignments in construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.

Responsible for coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors

Under minimal direction, relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Construction Project Manager

Responsible for setting own project deadlines. 

Provides on the job training to new employees. 

Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. 

Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records. 

Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning. 

Tracks quality assurance progress. 

Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
