APU Inspection Technician

We won’t claim our expertise extends from nose to tail, and that’s OK. We simply focus on what we are most knowledgeable and passionate about—APUs.

We are currently looking for a qualified APU Inspection Technician. APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is a turbine engine utilized on the aircraft to provide electrical and pneumatic power during periods when the main engines are not running.

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the analytical inspection of components according to the Inspection/Repair manual.
  • Identification of parts using the Illustrated Parts Catalog and Service Bulletins.
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment related to the department.
  • Read and comply with work instructions.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (Magnaflux, and Fluorescent Penetrant).
  • Work independently of others, as well as teams, while completing task on time.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools to accomplish tasks (Calipers, Micrometers, Depth Gauges, etc).
  • Understand and practice safety while being efficient and productive.
  • Immediately report to the department lead and Chief Inspector any issues that arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by any supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED minimum.
  • Experience in APU’s preferred.
  • Must pass eye exam (Corrective lenses are ok, but must be worn at work).
  • Technical school courses in auto or diesel mechanics or machinist classes preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience preferred OR possess a strong aptitude for acquiring new mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to locate, read and follow the technical data appropriate for the assigned task.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
