Responsibilities:
Primarily focused on proactively identifying strategies and processes to ensure client program requirements are met, acting as a single point contact for the client program inclusive of 3rd party relationships, licensing, regulatory filings, vendor management and financial and resolution oversight for all program claims. Develops strategies to manage and settle claims consistent with insurance program and policy language, authorizes claims settlements within authority, and resolves any insurance coverage disputes, questions, or issues relevant to program management, claims handling, Third Party Administrators, carrier relations, and litigation management. Key responsibilities further include: Making recommendations on program service plans, best practices, and processes as well as on claims policy and procedures; Reviewing claims and overall program reserves to ensure accuracy and sufficiency; Interpreting policy language and serving as a resource for the branch and insured parties to resolve any coverage disputes; Collaboratively establishes standards and monitors program results; and Communicating directly with carriers on program, claims status, mitigation strategies and resolution plans. Interfaces with external and internal legal counsel, proving direction and guidance.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's degree & 7+ years property and/or casualty insurance program and claims management experience. Strong knowledge and experience with insurance contracts, legal proceedings, captive insurance management, risk management, actuarial analysis, insurance industry practices, and insurance regulatory environment. Must have experience in handling complex claims, including insurance coverage. Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand and explain complex insurance issues. Ability to negotiate and strategize resolution of claims.

Preferred: Graduate degree in risk management, finance or business and/or Professional certification preferred. Experience in handling construction defect claims desirable.

Behaviors: Communicates effectively with internal and external customers. Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, react quickly, and handle highly charged situations.
