Responsibilities:
State Farm In-House Insurance Staff Counsel is seeking a Legal Secretary to join the Claims Litigation team. The selected candidate will be housed at Corporate Headquarters in Bloomington, IL. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to calendar/scheduling litigation events; preparing/drafting/filing correspondence, motions, pleadings, and, other litigation materials; communication with internal and external parties; and processing incoming/outgoing mail. These tasks will be performed as part of the Shared Services Floating Support Team. Candidates must be detail-oriented, a team player, and resourceful. The most qualified candidates will have the ability to prioritize workload, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and embrace change. The selected individual will be considered a hybrid employee, primarily working in the office with the opportunity for some remote work. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

Qualifications:
Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant experience is preferred, but not required

Familiarity with court structures, vendors, and other legal resources is preferred, but not required

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail

Accurate, efficient, and comfortable working in an electronic environment

Strong ability to multi-task; anticipate deadlines to ensure completion of time sensitive tasks

Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe and e-filing is highly desired

Proficiency in software technology, tools, and case management system
