Job Description

Manager, Procurement is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating prices and contracts with suppliers. This role’s daily activities include purchasing to include day to day and capital projects purchases, managing contracts including administering, negotiating, reviewing, renewing, filing, and evaluating for availability, price, term, and quality of products. Coordinating bid process and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Manages purchasing clerks including hiring, training, and supervising and delegating tasks across departments when necessary.

Strategize and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to obtain high quality products in a timely manner while achieving the most cost-effective arrangements.

Develop sound, cost-effective strategies including evaluating discounts and timing for the purchasing of materials used at all learning campuses and workforce development partner locations. Review supplier contracts with the Company’s legal department to ensure supplier contracts and terms are favorable.

Continually evaluate supplier performance including conducting research and preparing cost analysis of price, quality, reliability, technical support, availability of product and other relative metrics with the goal of reducing overall procurement costs Company-wide.

Manage relationships with key stakeholders including external suppliers, campus directors, and senior management.

Establish key performance reporting metrics to communicate to senior management and campus directors cost management, flow of goods and services affecting campus and other education opportunities.

Demonstrate financial acumen with understanding the budget for purchased goods and working within the budget while providing inputs into the budget process as appropriate.

Evaluate spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries.

Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of shortages.

Develop policies and procedures, workflow and guidelines to ensure proper controls are in place over the procurement process from evaluating vendor bids, acceptance of bids, order management through a purchase order process, order delivery and acceptance and vendor payments. 

Evaluate and identify innovative technology opportunities to continually improve and enhance the Company-wide procurement process.

Salary Starting at $95k
